At Pier 36, we are passionate about giving back to our local community. Having built roots in Donaghadee in 1999, we want to do our bit to support local charities, schools and sporting teams through fundraising and sponsorship.
In July 2026, we launched our partnership with Cancer Focus NI, a local well known charity who for over 50 years have positively impacted the lives of men, women and children in Northern Ireland impacted by cancer.
Cancer Focus NI provide cutting edge research from Queens University alongside crucial support services, cancer prevention initiatives and influence across government to encourage change in public policy.
In 2025, Cancer Focus NI opened their first therapeutic support center in Enniskillen, designed to create a home from home environment for those on a cancer journey whether themselves or with a loved one. These centers create a safe place for patients and family to visit, talk to cancer nurses and volunteers about their journey, the support services available and all that Cancer Focus NI can do to help them through diagnosis, treatment and also prevention. With more therapeutic centers planned across NI, fundraising has become as crucial as ever.
Cancer Focus NI require over £1.4 million per year to provide the incredible services available such as bra fitting, counselling, family support and driving services to appointments. This is exactly the reason we have committed to raising £15,000 in 2026/2027 for Cancer Focus NI.

The Mary Peters Trust
In August 2026, we joined forces with The Mary Peters Trust, an incredible charity who for over 50 has been Northern Ireland’s leading sports charity, supporting young athletes to achieve greatness in their sporting careers.
Lady Mary Peters herself was an incredible athlete winning gold at the 1972 Gold Olympics, making Northern Ireland incredibly proud. She has continued her legacy by nurturing and supporting the young sporting talent in Northern Ireland and we are so excited to be part of this amazing charity.
At Pier 36, we have always supported local clubs however, we have elevated our commitment to local support and are launching our first fundraiser for The Mary Peters Trust on 3rd October. We will hosting an evening with Lady Mary Peters at Donaghadee Golf Club which includes a 2 course meal and live q&a with Lady Mary led by special host Ruth Gorman.
The fundraiser will include an donation to the Trust as well as sponsorship of 3 up and coming young athletes selected by the Trust. If you are interested in attending please contact us via phone on 02891 884 466 or by email info@pier36.co.uk.
